Jeep Cherokee/Comanche Steering box spacer.
If you have had your steering box off of your jeep, you have seen the factory steering spacer that is built out of cast aluminum, chances are that your spacer came out in several pieces as the factory material is simply not strong enough for the implied use. JcrOffroad is proud to offer our Jeep Cherokee or Jeep Comanche steering box spacer. These spacers are custom built in house by JcrOffroad therefore quality is unsurpassed by other manufacturers. They are constructed from 3/16” thick high strength steel and solid DOM tubing for the spacer offset. Installation is bolt on using factory provisions, but also mounts through the strong sleeve back hole used by the factory tow hooks.
This model is made for installing a YJ steering box on your Cherokee or Comanchee. Benifits of the YJ box include 4 hole mounting and a 3.2:1 fixed ratio. This means unlike the XJ's variable ratio box that slows steering on center, you'll have a fast ratio troughout the steering range. Great for technical wheeling, or turning those big tires on the road.
Regular price includes bracket and sleeve, add hardware to receive 4 Grade 8 7/16" bolts for the steering box, and 1 Grade 5 1/2" bolt for the factory frame sleeve. If your looking to prevent uniframe cracking, and to stiffen up your front end, please consider our YJ steering box kit.
