Jeep Cherokee XJ Transfer case Skid plate.

Important Product Note:
This skid is made to work with Jeep Cherokee's using the stock factory crossmember. Unlike other skids on the market, our's does not require modification to the Catalytic Converter! Please choose either NP231 or NP242 based on your transfer case. (NP242 has both part time and full time 4wd.)

Are you constantly worrying about damaging your vulnerable transfer case while trying to enjoy an offroad outing? Now, you can worry no more, as JcrOffroad is proud to offer our Jeep Cherokee Transfer case skid plate. Unlike other manufacturer's skids, ours offers frame rail to frame rail protection! These skids are custom built in house by JcrOffroad therefore quality is unsurpassed by other manufacturers. They are constructed from 3/16" thick high strength steel and built by Cnc production machines, therefore the over all fit, and attention to detail is second to none. Installation is easy, but requires drilling 10 holes. All hardware is provided. This skid will fit 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokees.

All of our products come unfinished and ready for paint, unless otherwise stated.

May not work with most long arm suspension kits. Please check before ordering.

  • This skid is badass! Nutserts are the hardest part of this installation. If you get them installed correctly this project is butter. With that said I've had this skid for about 7 years. Balanced the whole weight of the JEEP on it once or twice. And only have 1 bolt loosely installed on each side on the outside of the uniframe. Misused and it showed me who's boss! Takes only 15 minutes to remove or install once the holes are drilled.

  • Got this for my wifes jeep since we ocasionally wheel it when my jeep is broken. Well hers is very low in bb and got hung up quite a bit until installing one of these skids. The first few rivets went in perfect with the provided "tool". However i realized i had the skid backwards! Jcr did provide a few extra, still need 2 more, but says alot that after 2 years of abuse it has held up great with 2 missing bolts.

  • Nice piece of protection for my 1996 XJ old body style. It is very heavy duty piece of metal that goes right over the original cross-member and protects the cat and transfer case. This piece is pretty important since it is right in the middle of the Jeep where it could high-center. Since my XJ is lifted only about 2", I thought it was pretty important. It also seems to have stiffened the frame up a bit since it it is essentially an over-sized crossmember. I am not really that mechanically inclined, but was able to install this myself in just a couple of hours. It would probably take somebody less time who had the right tools. Shipping and install instructions were also great. I hope to get a few other pieces from JCR in the near future. I would submit some photos, but they're not any different from the photos above.
