In early September I picked up a DIY winch bumper and fair lead mount at the Portage Michigan headquarters of JCR Off Road.
I got a good tour and was shown many of their finished products as well as a few prototypes they were developing.
I found the internet instructions easy to follow, with a total assembly time around fifteen total hours and cost of all hardware and winch under $1700.
The skid plate needed six inches added to reach the mount on the new JL.
I added Blue Ox tow hooks, shackle points, recessed fog light mounts, hitch receiver, and a Warn VR 10-S Winch.
We powder coated everything in Desert Graphite, and in the sun, this thing sparkles beautifully.
After installation at Specialty Prototypes in Bellevue,Michigan we drove to Quartzsite, Az via Livingston, Montana where we encountered our first icy roads in many years.
I want to thank Leo Calero of Specialty Prototypes and Mitchell Artis of JCR for their encouragement and support, I’d highly recommend this route to anyone with welding, grinding and drilling capabilities.

There was a few weeks lead time on this product because they didn't have any in stock when I ordered it, but it showed up actually before it was expected. It was missing the D-ring tabs for some reason, but after talking with customer service this was immediately taken care of and they said they were mailing them out ASAP.
