Q Ronald Thompson • 08/10/2020, 1:03:23 PM Does this come with the slotted lower skid in the photos?
A 08/12/2020, 3:39:22 PM No, JLSD-VCM is a separate part.
Q Jason Suerstedt • 09/04/2020, 3:30:43 PM I just purchased a 2020 Gladiator Mojave, and I’m interested in the Vanguard Bumper. I had a few questions. Will it work on the Mojave? Also, can I use the factory skid plate, or will I need the JCR Skid? Is any cutting or modification required for the install? Is there anything else I need to install a Quadratec Stealth winch? Last, what is the lead time on the powder coated bumper with the hoop, and skid plate if mine will not work? Thanks!
A 09/09/2020, 1:49:58 PM This bumper will work on your Jeep, but have not tested compatibility with the stock Mojave front skid, but as long as it doesn't attach to the factory bumper it has a good chance of working. Our current lead times can be found by clicking the link at the top of the home page.
Q Chad Kiphart • 09/06/2020, 8:19:01 AM Is the bull bar welder or bolted to the bumper?
A 09/09/2020, 1:19:05 PM Bolted
Q Chad Kiphart • 09/06/2020, 6:07:09 PM For vanguard full width front bumper - do you offer something to mount a license plate on the front?
A 09/09/2020, 1:19:05 PM We don't currently, but search the web for fairlead license plate mount. Lots of options.
Q Amelia • 10/02/2020, 4:01:53 PM Will the prerunner tube obscure the view of the trail cam?
A 10/06/2020, 1:50:21 PM It won't block the whole view, but it will be in view.
Q Lisa • 04/05/2021, 4:15:44 PM Can you use this bumper to tow behind a Motorhome?
A 04/12/2021, 2:38:55 PM We do have customers that do this, you would need tow mount brackets that go in the d-rings.

I hit a deer with my Commander in January, and decided to replace it with a Gladiator. Before I ordered the truck, I was already looking at aftermarket bumpers. I ordered this bumper the day after I placed the custom order with the dealer. I knew I wanted a full width, steel winch bumper that would hopefully stand up to the impact and protect my diesel engine, if another deer should decide to play chicken. I’m thankful to say I haven’t hit a deer yet, but I’m more than confident that, if that unfortunate event should ever happen, my Gladiator will be better off than the Commander was. My only regret is that I didn’t order the prerunner tube. I was originally going to have a friend help me make a full brush guard to bolt on in place of the hoop, so ordering the hoop didn’t seem like that big of a deal. I haven’t gotten to that yet, though, and I’m wondering if I ever will. On the plus side, I know I could order one seperate, but still. Finding this awesome bumper- and having the added bonus of JCR being a local company -is awesome. It was the first of several JCR products I bought, all of which I’m happy with.

This was part of an larger order, front, rear, skid plate and tire carrier. There is no doubt that the craftsmen that physically built this bumper have pride in ownership. Welds are clean as they come, with a nice balance of non-perfection that hand welding provides. Finish was good, but not as durable as one sees in other manufactured baked finishes. The bumper is somewhat of a large steel torpedo in it's shipping box, so keeping it from projecting out one end or the other is likely a challenge. The JCR Offroad bumper came wrapped in plastic, then inserted in a foam injected box. In the case of this particular shipment, the bumper did indeed work through the box, leaving the points of the bumper banged up and finish chipped. But it is a heavy steel bumper, so I was OK with the overall condition when received. The front bumper with the bull bar is a great looking product on my JL. I was able to fit a Zeon 10K Platinum in there with some frame modification (as per the video). The winch exit holes lined up well, and worked. There was no accommodations for license plate, so one needs to think that through before hand, or get one for the front of the winch fairlead. A major oversight was providing a method to mount good lights on this product. From a lighting perspective, there was a lot of missed opportunity on how one can mount various lights. I ended up fabricating my own 20" bar light brackets to set a comfortable light in there without blocking additional airflow. All in all, it's a heavy duty bumper, and checks the 'quality' box as an A+. Well thought out box a 'C''. Finish a 'B+', packaging a 'C'.
