Pros- super strong/sturdy, looks great, doesnt block tail lights, has great accessories, excellent "bomb-proof" spindle with common bearings that can be found at any auto store.
Cons- pretty much what every Jeep forum says, the bolt that catches/latches the gate will most likely need to be modified because it wont line up properly, also the Rotopax holder add-on will also not line up properly and holes will need to be slotted/drilled out to fit. Needed an extra 30min of tweaking to make it all work but it was well worth it

This is a great tire carrier. The "bomb proof" spindle is solid and very smooth with no creaking like on some lesser bumpers. The latch mechanism is great, very solid and low profile. Yes it does restrict your tail lights a bit. On 96 and older, I could see some issues with blocking turn signals, but on my 98 it only interferes with the reverse lights. They don't block them entirely, you still can see behind you, but I would recommend getting the JCR light pods to fit in the bumper holes and tie those in to the reverse lights. On the flip side, the tire carriers I have seen that don't block the tail lights are nowhere near this smooth and strong. Besides, the stock reverse lights kind of suck anyway, so this is just one more reason to upgrade to rear LED pods

This is probably the best looking and functioning bumper I have seen in my research for an XJ bumper. The, "bomb proof" spindle is beefy as can be, and using standard packed bearings, I can rest easy knowing it's a quick hop to a auto store to replace them. Sure the price for the carrier and bumper is quite high, but for the ease of install and overall functionality you get compared to other brands, I think it's well worth the price.

My favorite tire carrier for an XJ. Works awesome and very smooth! Only problem I've ever had with it, is the spindle blocks the blinker on the passenger side, I added a small led blinker next to the JCR logo on the carrier. I also welded two tabs on the bumper and carrier, next to the latch system so i could put a lock on it. Thanks!

One of, if not THE, very best tire carrier designs to date! However, there IS room for improvement: 1. The tire carrier hinge & latch points should come inside another 3 or 4 inches so as NOT to block the taillights and turn signals "this compromise of safety is unacceptable", 2. The weight of the entire unit should be dropped considerably by using aluminum for the tire rack components & designing the bumper more ergonomically without compromising strength significantly & incorporating more efficient, modern design elements as evident in the original OR-FAB Rear XJ Bumper, now out of production, and 3. The combined price of the entire System is the same price as a rebuilt engine!! The engineering is beautiful, but compared to the amount of engineering to make an engine...! WTF, really???
