Q Taylor Morlock • 07/13/2020, 10:39:47 PM I baught one of these cause my oe one was broken. Apon install i noticed that its not springy like the oe one. It also doesnt latch or have movement. Is it supposed to have movement and latch, or just be like a handle? Thanks!
A 07/15/2020, 12:39:23 PM It may need to be bent slightly to match and latch your lid center console combo. The aluminum (and the lid) should have just enough spring to latch and unlatch once adjusted. Please reach out to customer service if you are having issues after adjustment.

As these plastic parts get around 20 years of age they become very brittle. Some Cherokees have a tougher life than others. For the ones that have gotten brittle and experiencing a tough life this latch will do the trick. This is a great product and would definitely buy it again.

After twenty years, my original plastic latch finally snapped off. This replacement does feel a little different than the original since it's metal, but it does the job, keeping the lid closed.

This latch is clutch. Had my console secured with velcro for years, now it's back to normal operation. Feels a little different than the stock latch, but works the same. Now if JCR could fabricate a replacement glovebox latch, my interior would be complete.

I ordered the first one but it arrived defective. However I contacted the customer service reps and they were amazing! They sent me a new one and once I received it I installed it immediately. It fit and it does its job, the only complaint is it's a little loose and gives it some wiggle space.
