Q JAMES MCGINN • 04/19/2020, 2:40:24 PM How do I know i need the steering box brace/spacer if I have a 3" lift and use 30×9.5×15 tires? Can one tell if the stock brace/spacer is broken?
A 04/20/2020, 2:14:51 PM You would have to pull the factory spacer to see if it's broken, but if you go that far you may as well replace it.
Q stu • 06/14/2020, 10:09:51 PM Is this bracket compatible with Durango steering boxes? Thanks
A 06/16/2020, 9:57:53 AM Yes, but you may need to add a couple washers between the inner brace and box. You can test fit the brace on the bench to see how many (if any) you will need. Make sure you have proper thread engagement after adding any washers.
Q Remy Chilcote • 02/22/2021, 1:54:49 AM Do you use longer bolts than stock for this product? (7/16-14UNC x 3.75")
A 03/01/2021, 2:57:04 PM This kit is designed for factory length (3.75") bolts. We ship 4" length with the full UNF system.
Q Remy Chilcote • 02/23/2021, 12:04:23 PM What is the length of the hardware used with this spacer?
A 03/01/2021, 2:42:00 PM 7/16-14 x 3.75" grade 8
Q Zach • 01/08/2022, 0:32:12 AM Does this spacer come with mounting bolts? It is unclear in the description, reviews, q and a.
A 01/12/2022, 10:14:10 AM Sorry for the confusion, the spacer includes new hardware for the steering box and the additional back mounting hole.
Q Max • 07/14/2022, 2:41:07 AM Can this be installed without cutting? I have a stock height, stock suspension XJ and I want to retain the factory bumpers. Is it worth opting for the full Unibody Tie-In Kit for $100 more? Even if I am staying at stock height and stock bumpers? Thanks!
A 07/18/2022, 9:58:46 AM We'd recommend just the spacer if you are staying stock. No cutting required!
Q Justin Sample • 12/11/2022, 3:11:15 AM Would this work for a RHD XJ?
A 12/13/2022, 3:27:42 PM It will not.
Q Greg Smith • 01/23/2023, 1:27:25 PM Will this work on a RHD one if it is flipped over?
A 01/30/2023, 4:19:30 PM It will not.

My OEM bracket was cracked and it was allowing the steering box to move and bump steer. This replacement bolted in without any troubles and seems to have improved my problem. This bracket is just a little thicker than stock and this extra thickness caused my steering wheel to be turned to the left a bit. This can be fixed by a small adjustment to the drag link. cadavis
