Jeep Steering Upgrade 1-Ton | Under the Knuckle - UTK

Specs
Vehicle: All makes and models of Jeeps
Material: 1.25" diameter DOM tube, 1/4" wall

Upgrading your stock Jeep steering solves more than one problem. This 1-ton steering upgrade eliminates the hard-to-adjust "Y" stock steering, allows for a longer drag link to help with your steering angles, and gives you heavy-duty steering that holds up to real off-road abuse.

The rods are a beefy 1.25" diameter DOM with a 1/4" wall, and threads are direct-tapped into the tube. Unlike a threaded insert, this means the TRE has full thread engagement into the tube for the entire length of its threads. On this system, the passenger side TRE dust boot is replaced with a polyurethane spacer, which pulls the TRE body against the knuckle and eliminates the tie rod roll that an inverted T setup can sometimes have.

Features:

  • 1.25" diameter DOM tube with a 1/4" wall for serious strength

  • Direct-tapped threads give the TRE full thread engagement along its entire length

  • Polyurethane spacer eliminates tie rod roll on the passenger side

  • Allows for a longer drag link to help with steering angles

Fitment & Notes

  • Fits all makes and models of Jeeps

  • ⚠️ Professional installation recommended. Drilling and reaming is required on the knuckles and pitman arm to fit the 1-ton tie rod ends. Installation typically takes about 2 hours

  • ⚠️ Please read the full installation instructions before purchasing to understand what's involved and the limitations of this setup

  • Aftermarket diff guards/covers may need to be modified or replaced depending on their standoff compared to the stock cover. Most half guards (like the Warn diff cover) can easily be modified to fit

  • We've had great success running without a steering stabilizer, but if you'd like to run one, a bracket kit from Summit Racing will still allow easy alignment of this steering setup
