Q Wes Johnson • 03/01/2021, 11:42:27 PM I regards to the short rack; What are the dynamic and static weight ratings? Is hard top removal still allowable after installation? Can you run the short rack on the mounts with hard top removed?
A 03/08/2021, 12:20:24 PM Dynamic and static loads are at your discretion. You can easily remove the top, and the rack will bolt back onto the support system with the top removed, but we haven't don't any real world testing in that setup.
Q Matt Jenner • 03/03/2021, 5:33:33 PM What is the weight rating on the rack? How much does the rack weigh? What is the dimensions of the rack?
A 03/08/2021, 12:20:24 PM Rack weight ratings are at your discretion; the short rack weighs 40lbs, the longer one weighs 50lbs; the short rack is 52" x 54", 84" x 54".
Q Peyton Murphy • 06/11/2021, 7:48:06 PM Hello there! Are the roll cage supports included with the full size rack, or do you have them available separately? I'm looking for a full-sized rack that can support a roof-top tent.
A 06/25/2021, 11:08:27 AM They are included with both racks.
Q Carolyn • 06/13/2021, 10:28:58 AM Can you please make these for 2 door JKs that have Sunriders? There aren't any options but 1, a Garvin, for us! TIA.
A 06/25/2021, 11:08:27 AM Nothing in the works at the moment, sorry.
Q Joseph • 06/20/2021, 9:07:43 PM When will the dynamic and static load ratings when using the support system be given? Once those are tested and figured out I will be first to buy
A 06/25/2021, 11:23:09 AM We don't plan on testing a hardtop to failure to get those max figures. We design and test these systems with the static weight of a RTT with two adults in mind. That said, serious rock crawling with even a 150 lb tent up top could be an issue if stuff is getting smashed around. Therefore we are leaving these capacities up to the user.
Q Thomas Jamison • 09/27/2021, 12:40:01 PM Do you have anything in the works for a 2000 Jeep wrangler tj?
A 10/05/2021, 5:19:18 PM Not at this time.
Q ALEXANDER Alonso Encarnacion • 11/03/2021, 2:57:07 PM Quiero el portaequipajes completo jk 2018 ya tengo instalado barra de luz Debo hacer careado con corte de barra de luz o no ?
A 12/07/2021, 3:00:23 PM If you want to keep the light bar, you will need the lightbar cutout fairing and install the 40" lightbar on the rack.
Q David Lombard • 01/16/2022, 1:51:34 PM I have the hard top headliner option. The installation video does not show that. Are there any special considerations for the headliner? Clearance issues? Drilling through?
A 01/24/2022, 2:08:05 PM We have not installed this rack with a headliner. You would likely have to cut the headliner around the mounts where the come through the roof.
Q Miles Nader • 02/23/2022, 2:46:12 PM Will the short rack and internal supports fit a 2 door wrangler jk?
A 03/04/2022, 1:39:16 PM We have not tested this.
Q Darren Laird • 04/22/2022, 2:52:45 PM Do you have an option for the JK that mounts vis the rain gutter like the JL version? Or do you have to drill the roof?
A 04/25/2022, 10:05:04 AM Drilling is required on the JK because it does not have rain gutter the full length of the top like the JL.
Q Josh • 05/30/2022, 8:04:56 PM How much vertical height does the short rack add to the top of a jku?
A 06/09/2022, 2:54:02 PM It depends on where you measure, but roughly 2.25-3.25"
Q Bobby • 01/29/2023, 11:08:28 AM What is the height of the rack above the top of the jeep?
A 01/30/2023, 4:19:30 PM It depends on where you measure, but roughly 2.25-3.25"
Q donald • 03/21/2023, 9:07:22 PM Can I use the full size rack with the hard top removed? The back 2 mounts are to the roll bar. Can I attach the front brace to the roll bar as well (perhaps with another bracket similar to the rear brackets) somehow instead of the gutter so the rack can be used without the top? Thanks.
A 03/30/2023, 4:05:39 PM We haven't tried to install this without the top installed.
Q Brian Carruth • 05/03/2023, 11:04:56 AM Have yall done a roof rack on a JKU with a Genright cage?
A 05/08/2023, 3:26:42 PM We have not tested that, no.

Write a Product Review: JK Roof Rack | Jeep Wrangler (2007-18)

Ok so I wanted to wait some time to leave a review as I usually do. So here is the one year review! Full rack has been on my jku for about a year now. Have not had any issues with mounting or anything. The nuts for the bracket that mount to the freedom panels I had issues with but other than that this rack has be solid. I’ve had a roam roof top tent, roof boxes, and a light bar mounted to this rack almost full time. Have been off-road more times than I can count fully loaded. The roof top tent has held 2 adults and a child without a single issue. Hands down I am stoked with this rack. It still looks as good as it did the day I installed it. This rack has safely and flawlessly held 250/300 lbs on some pretty extreme terrain that most wouldn’t take an rtt on as well as 80+ mph for extended periods of time. Static weight total we have had up to about 800 lbs on it at one time.
Note From JcrOffroad: Thanks Forrest!

Very happy with the short rack on my '18 JKU. Here are some installation notes: - The sound bar plug is released by pressing at the very end of the side tab. - My JKU has the optional Hard Top Headliner. I had to cut away the headliner in the way of the forward brackets to enable to roof to sit flush on the body. This was easy to do with the roof in place using a sharp blade. The headliner over the rear brackets could have been cut away, but as it did not interfere with the roof, I just removed the insulating foam and fabric in the way of the 3/4 hole once I drilled it. - Drilling through the roof from below will leave a ragged hole. Not to worry as the larger hole that you drill through the top will clean that up. - To drill the 3/4 hole from the top, I laid masking tape atop the initial 3/8 holes. I then placed the bolt and spacer on the tape and drew the outline of the spacer on the tape to provide guidance as I drilled the larger hole. A cone drill at slow speed produced good clean cuts. - Bolt the roof to the body before bolting the rack to the mounts.
Note From JcrOffroad: David, thanks for the review and install tips!
