Perfect rack except for one issue
(CA) | April 14th, 2024
Rack is well built and looks great, fits perfect too. My only issue is the clamps interfere with all my doors. JCR sent me new clamps but they also rub. Might work on a non grand Wagoneer but the clamps all rub on the chrome trim. I’ve had to remove all the drip rail covers to get a little more clearance but it still rubs. I might have to cut off about 1/16 or 1/8” off all of them to get them to fit. Once I figure out some new clamps it will be perfect and would be 5/5.
Note From JcrOffroad: Hey Scott, sorry for the hassles. We have the chrome trim on the 79 Chief at the shop as well without any rubbing. Not sure if our doors are adjusted lower, but they do match the body lines. Let us know if we can help in any other way with this.
A bit pricey!
(Anchorage, AK) | August 21st, 2023
This did the job, but with a little modification. You have to ruin the finish to install your antenna properly. It would have been nice if the wrinkle paint finish design had been left off of the connection for the antenna and mount allowing proper grounding. Also, the hole size did not accommodate my Midland 6DB gain antenna (MXTA26) without modifying the nylon insert of the antenna. This was no small task without a lathe. I also needed to include two washers to offset the mount to exactly between the tire in the door, making it so the antenna would not rub on the door or the tire.
Note From JcrOffroad: Thanks for the honest review, Nate. These are designed primarily for CB antennas, so as you found, they have a 1/2" hole for the antenna mount and tight clearance between the gate and tire. There are 1/2" NMO mounts available, however. We assume you had a 5/8" NMO mount? We apologize for the hassle, if we can help any further, please reach out: https://www.jcroffroad.com/CTUS.html
Look good, but not worth it
(FL) | August 10th, 2023
They look pretty good, but that's about where the good things end. Fitment is OK at best. It's understood that they are not weather tight, but if you hit a puddle at any decent speed it is coming straight through the hinge opening and all over you. The hinge studs are some sort of steel that rusts overnight if you live anywhere humid. And the latches are junk that will randomly decide not to latch and bounce back open unless you slam the door. Even then the outer latches will stick open. I like the look, and the optional arm rests but if given the option I would not order them again.
Note From JcrOffroad: Thanks for the review, Seamus. You are correct, they are not meant to be waterproof. We'd be happy to walk you through adjusting the latches, please reach out to our customer service team: https://www.jcroffroad.com/CTUS.html
Nice Doors but Fitment is not great
(Colorado, USA) | May 19th, 2023
Purchased the half doors, front and rear. Installed and found the fitment left 1/2 inch gaps from the door to the door frame of the Jeep. Still waiting on JCR to respond. Not really thrilled with the gap as I can anticipate debris coming from the front tire and weather.
Note From JcrOffroad: These doors were misbent, we worked with Mark to get him a correct set. We just wanted to follow up on this review to say it's not a common issue with these doors. ~JCR
Solid build quality, horrible lack of instruction
(AZ) | May 5th, 2023
Very disappointing that I received no paper instructions and the video instruction only show you how to mount to their top molle. To paraphrase the instructions for install: "Take off this plastic panel and then you will have some brackets. OK, now I am going back to the show you how to attach it to our top molle."
Note From JcrOffroad: Thanks for the review Jeff. We apologize for the difficulty installing it; we will evaluate the install video.
Mounting holes too small
(Colorado) | April 17th, 2023
I'm originally from Kalamazoo and wanted to support JCR. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the long lead times and craftsmanship. The mounting holes for the Badlands Apex winch were too small by a 1/32 of an inch, which made me have to drill out, prime, and paint them. The plate is solid and holds everything together nicely, but it was the fact of having to wait over a month and then having to deal with the holes being too small for the reason of the 3-star rating.
Note From JcrOffroad: Matt thanks for your order. The Badlands winch mounting bolts should be M10 and there is plenty of room in the slots as designed for both 3/8" and M10 bolts. We will try and reach out to the email address provided in this review to rectify the situation with you.
Wrong parts shipped
(AZ) | November 3rd, 2022
This is not a product review, but a customer service review....After waiting the typical 3 weeks for the rack to ship, the wrong parts were in the box. It took a week for the issue to be resolved and only after I prodded them for updates. Still waiting on the correct parts a month after they took my money. I will leave a product review when I actual receive the correct product. Yes, I realize you won't post this as your company filters your reviews...but this is what I will post everywhere else.
Note From JcrOffroad: Jonnie, we apologize for initially shipping the wrong part; the correct one should be en route. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with on the installation.
JL Interior Cargo Basket
| September 10th, 2022
Solid rack. Easy install and a great way to utilize storage space in the JL. 3 star rating is due to the powder coating- non uniform, "splash" spots on the sides and basket. Did not have this issue with the roof rack I installed from JCR.
Cold weather malfunction
(Alberta, Canada) | September 1st, 2022
These mounted as they should to my horse carriage yesterday, and they look delightful. Unfortunately when I led my family out to the laneway on this cold Canada morn to gaze upon our newly decorated buggy in all of Gods glory, our beloved nugs were tucked up so high into the frame that we could barely see the breading. I said "oh heavens, we humble dycks will have to march on nuggless today"

Look great but JCR needs to make a nug skid. First trip out dragged the low one. Luckily it's alright, just a little banged up.
