Q J Ennis • 08/11/2020, 11:16:29 AM I would like to use this with the Vanguard bumper on a JT to hold a 40 inch tire with wheel that weighs about 135 lbs. It looks like the bumper was tested with a 37 inch tire in the picture. Would the carrier hold up to the weight and size tire I'm wanting to mount?
A 08/12/2020, 3:39:22 PM That would block the tail light completely. We have only tested this up to a 37" tire.

Q Jim C. • 02/13/2022, 5:15:36 PM I intend to buy two of these. Can you provide actionable information on what kind of grease I should use on the bearings? I prefer waterproof, of course. No sense in having it run down the side of my truck or whatever.
A 02/17/2022, 3:24:02 PM The spindles are sealed on the bottom with a dual lip seal and up top with an o-ring, so no danger of any grease running out. You can use whatever bearing grease you have. We like Lucas marine grease or Red "N" Tacky.

I like this product because I've got antennas that may be mounted on the swing-outs and HF radios prefer hinged items all be well grounded. I've already had to strap all the doors and even the muffler and gas tank cover to reduce HF noise.

A 06/09/2022, 2:54:02 PM We don't have official weight ratings on them as it also depends on what bumper they are going in, but around 150 pounds seems like the max without things starting to flex a ton.

A 05/22/2023, 3:56:24 PM You would need to open the swing-out first before you'd be able to open the tailgate.

I purchased both left and right swings. They are awesome. They look great and are the only dual swing bumpers for the XJ that I could find. I think the price is a little steep, there are a few design improvements needed, and I had to get a replacement spindle, but overall great!
