Q J Ennis • 08/11/2020, 11:16:29 AM I would like to use this with the Vanguard bumper on a JT to hold a 40 inch tire with wheel that weighs about 135 lbs. It looks like the bumper was tested with a 37 inch tire in the picture. Would the carrier hold up to the weight and size tire I'm wanting to mount?
A 08/12/2020, 3:39:22 PM That would block the tail light completely. We have only tested this up to a 37" tire.
Q Cam C • 12/04/2020, 1:06:18 AM If I needed to have the tail gate down, would this lock in place so it wouldn't swing around? Or would I need to remove the tire swing-out completely?
A 12/04/2020, 12:00:43 PM There is a locking pin to hold the carrier open.
Q Jim C • 02/06/2021, 7:50:23 PM For a 1999 jeep Cherokee limited what bumpers should I be looking at mounting these on?
A 02/08/2021, 10:28:40 AM https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/XJRV2.html
Q Lindsey Ross • 03/25/2021, 11:24:18 PM For the bumper swing out carrier is the spindle assembly (spindle, bearings mounting bolt, and cap) included or must it be ordered separately?
A 04/02/2021, 5:30:54 PM It's all included.
Q Erik Omland • 11/08/2021, 2:43:37 PM What is the height and width of the arm? From the centerline of the spindle to the end of the arm and from the bottom of the mounting plate to the top?
A 12/14/2021, 5:35:57 PM 26.5" from the center of spindle to outside edge wide, ~24" from the base of the spindle (where it contacts the top of the bumper) to the top of the carrier.
Q Tom • 01/05/2022, 9:25:40 PM On an XJ without a tire carrier, would the adventure carrier with Jerry cans block the factory license place location?
A 01/12/2022, 10:14:10 AM Yes.
Q Jim C. • 02/13/2022, 5:15:36 PM I intend to buy two of these. Can you provide actionable information on what kind of grease I should use on the bearings? I prefer waterproof, of course. No sense in having it run down the side of my truck or whatever.
A 02/17/2022, 3:24:02 PM The spindles are sealed on the bottom with a dual lip seal and up top with an o-ring, so no danger of any grease running out. You can use whatever bearing grease you have. We like Lucas marine grease or Red "N" Tacky.
Q Jim C. • 02/18/2022, 8:25:35 AM Any problems with using (link removed: Electrical Marine Lithium Grease) I like this product because I've got antennas that may be mounted on the swing-outs and HF radios prefer hinged items all be well grounded. I've already had to strap all the doors and even the muffler and gas tank cover to reduce HF noise.
A 03/04/2022, 1:55:11 PM No problems, not much grease stress on these bearings at all.
Q Joe • 04/14/2022, 4:16:52 PM What happens to the rear Bronco camera with the offset of the adventure carrier for spare?
A 04/15/2022, 10:45:47 AM It can be relocated to the spare using our Camera Relocation Bracket
Q Chase Fann • 05/31/2022, 9:36:59 AM What is the weight load each Adventure Carrier can hold? Looking to add a spare tire platform on the tire for some extra storage, but want to see the weight limits are. Thanks! Love all the products purchased from JCR so far!!!
A 06/09/2022, 2:54:02 PM We don't have official weight ratings on them as it also depends on what bumper they are going in, but around 150 pounds seems like the max without things starting to flex a ton.

I purchased both left and right swings. They are awesome. They look great and are the only dual swing bumpers for the XJ that I could find. I think the price is a little steep, there are a few design improvements needed, and I had to get a replacement spindle, but overall great!
