Q Tripp • 07/26/2022, 10:30:49 PM I saw someone else asked about changing the oil, and you said there is a hole for the drain plug. But what about access to the oil filter? I heard the ARB skid system blocks access to the filter and has to be fully removed to change the filter.

I have all four major skid plates, engine, transmission, t-case and gas tank. They've all got some battle scars but its only on the finish. They've worked well and haven't warped, allowing me to easily remove the engine skid to change my oil. I saw in the Q&A that someone asked about changing the oil with the skid in place. The answer JCR provided was yes, it can be done with the skid in place. I ask JCR, can you do it without spilling 7 quarts of oil on the shop floor with the skid in place? I haven't found a way, unless you have an aftermarket drain plug that will divert the flow straight down through the drain hole you mention is cut into the skid plate.
